FROM MANUAL LABOUR TO SUPERNATURAL FAVOUR

Numbers 11:4 – 6  “Now the people of Israel wept again and said, “O that we had meat to eat! We remember the fish we ate in Egypt for nothing, the cucumbers, the melons, the leeks, the onions, and the garlic; but now our strength is dried up, and there is nothing at all but this manna to look at.”

JESUS’ CONCERN FOR ONE TORMENTED SOUL

Mark 5: 1 – 20

There lived a man among the tombs in Gerasenes whom no one could bind even with fetters and chains. He would wrench the chains apart, and the fetters he broke into pieces. It was a fearful sight to see him screaming and bruising himself with stones, all day and night.

When the people in the community saw him, they wondered if anybody could do good to this man to set him free. He had a legion – six thousand unclean spirits living in him and playing havoc in his life.

GOD LEADS HIS PEOPLE IN UNUSUAL WAYS

Joshua 3:10 – And Joshua said, “Hereby you shall know that the living God is among you”

When the Lord led the people of Israel out of slavery from Egypt, He did not lead them through the established trade route which the Egyptians normally took. Even when the sons of Jacob came to buy food from the Egyptians governed by their brother Joseph, it took only eleven days for them to reach Egypt from Israel by road.

NEVER UNDERESTIMATE GOD

Every time Moses used the rod as commanded by the Lord, something supernatural happened. Not even once, did Moses fail to see a miracle when he used his rod. Even when he disobeyed the Lord by striking the Rock instead of speaking to it, he saw the water gush out, to quench the thirst of his people (Numbers 20: 11).

But when the mixed multitude of people that Moses led out of Egypt, complained to him that they were tired of eating the worthless manna and wept craving for meat, the anger of the Lord blazed so hot against them, that Moses was displeased (Numbers 11: 4 - 10).

PETER’S WALK ON WATER

Matthew 14: 22 – 27

Jesus, knowing that the high calling of His disciples would take them to face impossible situations in their mission, also knew that unless God intervened nothing supernatural would happen. His primary agenda was to prepare His men to navigate through hopeless situations in life like their Master, who gracefully walked above those dire circumstances.

THE UNIQUE BOAT TRIP

John 6:15-21

Jesus had fed the five thousand in the Tiberias side of Galilee, by multiplying the five loaves and two fish given by a young lad. It was an unusual day of hard work, with the disciples having to bend their backs in serving the great multitude and collecting the fragments left over by them.
