Nothing excites a child of God more than an answered prayer. The very feeling, that we have a God who listens and answers prayer, is so refreshing to the soul. There are many phases in the Bible where God had been silent for many moons and His people had to wait agonizingly, to have their prayers answered and promises fulfilled.
God never spoke to Abraham for thirteen years after Ishmael was born, before appearing to him as El-Shaddai, when he was ninety nine (Genesis 17:1).
2 Chronicles 14 – 16
King Asa started his reign by doing what was good and right in the eyes of the Lord. When Zerah the Ethiopian came with an army of a million men and three hundred chariots to fight the small army of Judah and Benjamin, he cried out to the Lord saying, ‘O’ Lord there is none like Thee to help between the mighty and the weak – We rely on thee’. The Lord heard his beautiful prayer and routed the Ethiopians until none remained alive.
Mark 1:35-38 “And in the morning, a great while before day, Jesus rose and went out to a lonely place, and there He prayed. And Simon and those who were with Him pursued Him and they found Him and said to Him, “Everyone is searching for You.” And He said to them, “Let us go on to the next towns, that I may preach there also; for that is why I came out.”
