THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD

Resurrection is an act of God, wherein human beings achieve the fullness of life intended by God, when He created Adam but lost it through his sin and death.

'The Egyptian pyramids' have been designed and built with the belief that some day when the light of their sun god enters the mummified bodies, the soul will revive the body to life. Many faiths in the world find it difficult to believe that the human body can be raised up by God. Apostle Paul in his grand chapter on resurrection, challenges some of the Corinthians who did not believe in the raising up of the body, that if there was no resurrection of the dead, then all his teaching and the faith of the Corinthian church was in vain (1 Corinthians 15:14). He said that, ‘for as in Adam all died, so that in Christ all be made alive’ (1 Cor 15:22).

Paul even questioned the Corinthian church as to what they believed, when they took baptism on behalf of the dead. To ensure that their unsaved forefathers should inherit eternal life, the saved believers took baptism mentioning the name of their dead ancestors! (1 Corinthians 15:29).

How could have they done it without believing in the resurrection?

What is sown is perishable, what is raised is imperishable. It is sown in dishonor and raised in glory - 1 Corinthians 15: 42, 43.

RIP is not Resurrection Impossible, but Rest in Peace till the day of resurrection!

Thought for the day: If for this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most to be pitied
